“Just returned from a lovely wee break with our grandson at this caravan.”

The caravan was spotless with good quality bed linen and fresh clean hand towels and had everthing we required and an added bonus of a starter with tea, coffee, sugar and fresh milk, just what you need to have on arrival before you start exploring. The owners were very communicative and answered all of my questions politely and promtly. My grandson has a great time at the park onsite and across the main road where he viisted the well equpped play park (a few times) with its paddling pool. ...

My grandson has a great time at the park onsite and across the main road where he viisted the well equpped play park (a few times) with its paddling pool. There was also an indoors arcade with lots to do if a tad expensive and a cinema and wee car track witch only cost £3.50 for 3 circuits of the track. on onsite pub had a good singer on 1 night and Karaoke for the children. Pity the pool is no longer there and Arbroath has sadly declined with so many shops closed as with lots of other towns. The signal tower is worth a visit and the lovely harbour where a group of local knitters and spent hours knitting lots of characters from the Beano and placing them at the harbour.

About the location

ARBROATH

Carnoustie 8 miles; Dundee 16 miles; St Andrews 30 miles.

An ancient port, Arbroath’s status as a town can be dated from 1178, when Arbroath Abbey was founded. The Abbey was subsequently consecrated in 1197 and there is a dedication to Saint Thomas Becket in the Abbey. The famous Declaration of Arbroath, the desire for Scottish self-determination, was signed in the Abbey in 1320. Arbroath’s influence grew over the subsequent centuries and particularly during the Industrial Revolution through the flax and jute industries, as well as fishing with the town boasting one of the largest fishing ports in Scotland by the 20th century. It is known for its long sandy beaches, as well as the Arbroath Smokie, with its haddock, traditionally salted overnight, dried, and then smoked over a hardwood fire. There are several traditional smokehouses around the harbour, with many well worth a visit, as well as excellent restaurants for fine dining. With lots of coastal walking and cycling, as well as golf courses and Carnoustie only 8 miles along the coast, there are plenty of attractions and activities in an around this lovely coastal town.
