The Isle of Arran is accessible by ferry all year from Troon in South Ayrshire to Brodick.
In summer there is an additional ferry from Claonaig on the Kintyre peninsula to Lochranza (28 March 2025 to 19 October 2025).
Subject to ferry availability there may also be a sailing from Ardrossan in North Ayrshire to Brodick during the summer timetable period.
If coming by car via Troon or Ardrossan, booking with Caledonian MacBrayne Ltd is strongly recommended - General Enquiries 01475 650100 or www.calmac.co.uk.
A car is recommended if travelling with young children or heavy luggage as the one mile journey to the caravan from Brodick Ferry terminal is all up hill.
Arran offers something for everyone - walking, cycling, horse riding, 7 golf courses, gorge walking, segway tours, plenty of local crafts, visitor and historical attractions, together with hotels, bars, restaurants and tea rooms in abundance.
See www.visitarran.com for more information on activities.
Arran is also one part of 'The Coig' - five great driving routes discovering an authentic experience of Scotland travelling around the Clyde Coast and Islands.
