“The lodge is spacious and well equipped however we had to spend the first night in unclean accommodation due to it still being dirty from the last people who had stayed.”
We contacted the owner who arranged for the cleaner to come out the next day which meant we had to leave the accommodation during the day. After travelling 8 hours to get there and only staying for 5 nights this really ate into our time to enjoy our holiday. We would have liked to receive a refund for our first nights amount but the owner only complied to refunding the cleaning fee, which had to be chased up for more than a week after we left. Overall not a good experience.
Dear Amy, we were very sorry that the Lodge wasn't as you expected. We always do our utmost to meet the requirements of booking customers. However, we know that our costs for letting are extremely low & we have to cover our costs. We appreciate that there were some minor issues that were put right, as well as giving you a discount for the small amount of cleaning. You were given a choice to leave the Lodge or stay while the cleaning was being carried out. Our cleaner felt it was necessary to make sure that you were absolutely happy with the Lodge before he left. We felt, however that the time he took didn't warrant a refund of a night's stay.
