    “Amazing relaxing break with awesome view of the loch.”

    Smaller bedroom wasn’t comfortable for 2 adults but the sofa bed was great. It was really peaceful with plenty of places to visit. Only a 10 min drive to town for Morrisons etc. The club house was really hospitable and plenty of choice of lagers, wines, ciders and soft drinks with a great menu if you don’t feel like cooking. We had a food delivery 2 nights and the food was fantastic. On arrival we had a welcome pack of bacon, eggs, bread &butter thanks to our wonderful hosts who stayed in ...

The only suggestion I would give is to provide towels otherwise the caravan was fully stocked for our needs. Would highly recommend this caravan.

The property

We are a husband and wife team originally from Essex.

We have 5 children and moved to Stranraer 4 years ago after we all fell in love with Scotland.

Having a big family, we understand the importance of having an amazing holiday without having to rob a bank.

So we hope your stay with us is an enjoyable one and you tell your family and friends about your stay at the BonnieButterfly. Wigbay is a family friendly location 5 mins drive to Stranraer, which is great for extra shopping, restaurants and cafés.

In town is the Ryan centre for the gym, cinema, theatre and swimming leisure centre.

There's also Bounce, a soft play for the kids, Stair Park and Agnew Park. Within the site there is a small indoor pool, which booking is required at 45 min intervals as well as an excellent restaurant/bar, soft play and play park.

About the location

STRANRAER

Portpatrick 8 miles; Newton Stewart 25 miles.

Stranraer, which became a Burgh of Barony in 1596 and a Royal Burgh in 1617, lies on the shores of Loch Ryan on the northern side of the isthmus joining the Rhins of Galloway to the mainland. There are many shops and cafes to while away an hour or two and the Stranraer Town Trail explains some of the fascinating history. For walkers, the Southern Upland Way touches Stranraer on its way through the Galloway Hills, having begun in Portpatrick, 7 miles to the west. Three nearby gardens are open to the public and well worth a visit at Castle Kennedy, Glenwhan and Logan. Stranraer has several beaches, however it is worth travelling to Sandhead and New England Bay for wonderful sandy beaches. A short drive south and you come to the Mull of Galloway, Scotland’s southernmost point. The lighthouse on the headland looks over some of the last remaining sections of natural coastal habitat on the Galloway coast and an RSPB nature reserve has been set up to retain this spectacular and diverse area.
