“Wow, we were so happy with our caravan.”

It was immaculate, spacious and had everything we needed for our short break. The arrival instructions were very good, so no hassle on when booking in after reception had closed.. We had elderly parents with us and there was plenty of room for them to move around. Overall, a lovely caravan and perfect location for the wedding we attended at East Mersea Hall. Thank you ????

The booking process was easy to follow and all relevant details provided. On arrival we noted how clean the caravan was and how well it has been maintained by the owner. Every item you would hope for was provided which always takes the pressure off. We would like to thank the owners for providing such a well presented, well maintained caravan; our stay was very enjoyable.

“The caravan was amazingly clean and very welcoming, some very nice touches, milk tea ,coffee , sugar .”

The site facilities were ok rather small . Swimming was clean but small. The entertainment was quite poor , expensive having to pay extra for everything. Would have liked to see some adult evening entertainment rather than children's entertainer singing every night . Bit samey samey. The pool table was broken and out of order . The darts were unavailable (,no darts ). The cost of the passes for club and swimming at £17. each an extra £68 on top of cost of holiday was extortionate. We had to pay extra £10 for a party which consisted of 3 games and a colouring book . Club could have been a bit cleaner . Cooper's beach has lots of potential as a smaller site . Bit more attention to detail with entertainment. Little cleaner . We would highly recommend the caravan and it's position . Not sure we would return due to points above 6/10

“Lorraine Lodge is simply one of the best Caravans at the park.”

It’s clean, spacious with adequate facilities. I particularly liked how items we needed were available in the caravan. My kids and I had a fantastic stay. Internet and phone network was down during generally in the park during our stay however we still had an amazing time. Highly recommended this caravan!

“Just arrived back, from a lovely few days, in 'Lorraine lodge'.”

It was pristine, comfortable, and essensials, like loo rolls, kitchen cleaners etc, had been left. We had a lovely swim, in the pool, although it closes at 4pm, which we thought was rather early? The food, in the restaurant, was nice and there's a good, on-site shop. A nice site, and the lodge wasn't too far to walk, to the entertainment block, which is by the beach and kids park. Everything you need to get away from it all. Many thanks.

The caravan is well equipped and clean and the double bed was very comfortable. Ron greeted us on arrival and showed us around the caravan and was very friendly. The caravan has a nice decking area equipped with tables and chairs. It's a 2 minute walk to the sea front and the bar that is right on the sea. The holiday park itself is really nice and clean.

We certainly will return as we felt the caravan was home from home especially all the little extra touches. “Lovely caravan,very warm and cosy, has everything you need including a washing machine and tumble dryer, very handy so didn't have to take piles of laundry home to do.”

The welcome pack was a very thoughtful touch and provided plenty for a cooked breakfast . The holiday camp is well cared for but the pub/clubhouse meals could have been better but was handy until we could find alternative places to eat. There are some eateries in West Mersea (just down the road about 10 minutes away) that we would highly recommend and the Vintage tea room for Sunday lunch in East Mersea itself. We would definitely visit again as it is a little gem.

The caravan is like home from home everything and more that you need. Even club passes great swimming pool and club very good food.we took our grandchildren for a week it's been that good we booked next year for us and another caravan for rest of our family.ron and Lorraine treated us like family even though we have been with them few times before, we feel relaxed and can't wait to go back in August 2017. ! Caravan is spotless, in a lovely quiet position, the welcome pack was great; all the essentials we needed. This caravan is a home fromhome, the owners supply everything even down to the cleaning materials which is normaly a pain to have to go out& buy. Comfortable beds& sofas, we love it here!! Alan& Lorraine are so friendly& helpful...i cannot fault anything from our stay!

If it wasn't already booked would Have stayed longer. We came with our old dog who was also very happy with decking which gave her some extra space. It is also very peaceful which is great and not far from beach and amenities. The couple who own it are a lovely down to earth couple Ron and Lorraine who will meet you with keys and show you around the caravan. I am only sorry to let you know about this little gem on Mersea Island as it will be getting booked up when I will be wanting to go again. Thank you Ron and Lorraine

“We have just returned from a lovely 6 nights at this lovely dog friendly caravan.”

It was real home from home , spotlessly clean , comfortable beds , lovely shower and fully equipped kitchen. We didn't use any of the site facilities are we were out exploring most of the time. I would recommend this caravan , I have used a number of caravans in recent years but this is the best so far. Didn't get to meet to Lorraine but Ron was very nice . If we decide to holiday in Mersea again we will defiantly book this van.

The owners are a really lovely couple so friendly and so accommodating i was able to take my 2 small dogs and they loved the freedom that having the decking provided.They left a welcome pack which was exceptional and what i have never had before as i always take what i need and i thank them for that.Iwill recommend this to anybody that is looking for a nice home from home stay in lovely surroundings cannot wait to book again for next year.

Chatsworth 1 mile; Bakewell 5 miles.

The pretty village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The village has many unusual and picturesque features including a triple-arched river bridge guarded by a toll house whose doorway is only 3 1/2 feet high! Baslow offers a range of village amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by is Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. Bakewell is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and with Alton Towers also within easy touring distance, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
