“Lovely caravan in a nice quiet spot, and the best-equipped I've seen.”
The caravan is very smartly decorated and features a veranda. Most caravans I've stayed in have had lousy freeview TVs but the TV in this caravan was excellent, had a DVD player, AND a TONNE of DVDs to choose from to watch. We brought a few with us, but didn't watch any of them as there were so many to choose from in the caravan itself. There really is something for all members of the family. The kitchen is also the best-equipped of any caravan I've ever stayed in. For some reason there's never a chopping board in caravan kitchens, I think it's assumed nobody will do any actual cooking while on holiday but I love to cook and eat great food while away. There were several chopping boards, loads of kitchen knives, tonnes of mugs, cups, glasses, plates, bowls, utensils, everything you're likely to need really.
I've stayed at Shorefield before so I already knew it's a short walk into Milford on Sea to reach the beach and the excellent Smugglers Inn. It's also not too far to Bournemouth and we spent a lovely day there promenading, eating chips and ice cream, paddling in the sea, and baffling the dog with our insistence that the sea wasn't going to do her any harm.
We chose this caravan over others because Ruth mentioned that dogs are welcome in the description, which others don't do. There's a world of difference between "dogs allowed" and "dogs welcome", and dogs are absolutely welcomed here. Ruth also provided us with loads of useful information before we arrived including excellent directions to the caravan from the site entrance. No driving around in circles looking for the caravan this time! We had a problem with the boiler the first evening which Ruth was very quick to come out and rectify for us, and it was fine for the rest of our stay.
At the end of the stay we were sad to leave, we could have happily stayed a lot longer!
