“The caravan park is tidy and well maintained.”
There's a shop on site for all the essentials and a LIDL just up the road . We used the fish shop once; excellent food. The outdoor pool was empty of water during our stay, and looked as if it hadn't been used for some time. Not too much of a problem for my wife and myself, but I imagine this might be an issue for a family with kids. My advice is to check before you book a caravan.
Our caravan was OK, but nothing to write home about. My wife was unhappy with the fridge which she said had not been cleaned properly, so she did it herself. The fridge itself was very small. There was just one ancient frying pan available, which also needed cleaning. I bought a new one from LIDL. The decking area had a large table with a parasol. The first time I tried to use it, pieces dropped out and it refused to wind up. I reported this to the owner, who sent someone to take a look, but during our stay it was not repaired or replaced, and since the weather was very hot and sunny on most days, we could have done with it.
We did have some severe rain during our stay, mostly thankfully during the night. This revealed another problem with the caravan, the roof began to leak in from around the vent just above the cooker. I placed the flip-top bin there to catch the drips. This was not attended to during our stay either.
The van itself is sited well away from the clubhouse and any possibility of noise, which is a good thing, but unfortunately it is also directly opposite 4 large waste bins. The smell was noticable on some days and the regular visits to the bins by other caravan users provided a lid-clang noise which we could have done without.
Large weeds growing around the base of the decking area added to the general uncared-for appearance of the caravan. My wife removed a few weeds while we were there in order to tidy the place up a bit. I thought we were coming on holiday to get away from the gardening...
On balance I think the £800+ I paid for the caravan was way over-priced and does not represent value for money. I cannot recommend this caravan.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you did not enjoy the stay at the caravan and thought it was not value for money. I pay someone to look after and clean the caravan so I will ask them about the fridge as for the parasol I was told it was in good working order before your stay and the problem was the joint for the tilt mechanism was snaped off which would suggest the parasol was put up in high winds during your stay as the caretaker lady who lives on the island said there were high winds at that time. I have replaced the parasol it is unfortunate I do not have a spare one at the caravan and as I live over 100 miles away I can only report the problem to the lady who caretakes the caravan who said she sent someone there to investigate the problem . As being over priced £770 not £800 which is £110 a night is very reasonable for that size of caravan with all the facilities of the caravan and park. The outdoor swimming pool has been closed for the whole of the season which I was only informed about at the beginning of your stay and I have no control over the running of the holiday park.
I have several good reviews and not one guest has mentioned the bins which are near the caravan and no mention of smells emanating from the bins over the 3 years I have been renting the caravan.
You phoned me about the leak and told me it was not a problem as you had placed a bin under it I have investigated the vent and re sealed it and to be honest I was staying at the caravan and had heavy rain but no leaks were apparent before I stripped down the vent and re sealed it
The frying pan was bought new at the beginning of the season so I don't know how it can look or be ancient and as we used it without any problems after your stay I do not see any justification on your comment
Thank you for your feedback and as I have mentioned I have several good reviews so it seems strange to have such a bad one but I will look at and address the issues
