and a lovely outside area to sit in. The owner made sure the caravan was ready earlier than planned for us which was great.. Lovely dog walks and the restaurant served lovely food. We would definately go back again..

“We had 3 lovely nights in a peaceful setting.”

The home was clean and very well presented, the balcony area with table and chairs was put to good use in the lovely weather we had overlooking the forest. The site had plenty of dog friendly walks including a forest trail. The site shop is very small and you are quite away from amenities so would recommend taking food and drink with you. There is a lovely community pub in Slaley village but you will need to drive. Relaxing and away from it all few days

“We had a lovely weekend in spite of the biblical rain when we arrived.”

It’s a lovely site, bit of a challenge on narrow roads and I was very glad not to be towing! The girls thought the pizza they got from the clubhouse was the best ever. Hexham is a really nice town and Beamish was a brilliant success. The beds were very comfortable and we left well rested. The WiFi and phone signal on site isn’t good but we had fun with the games and there’s a good selection of DVDs. It would have been really helpful to have some instructions in the van and also a note of the cost of the laundry (if you can find out-no one seemed to have a clue, but that’s the site, not the ‘van)

The pretty village of Baslow lies at the north end of stately Chatsworth House - home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The village has many unusual and picturesque features including a triple-arched river bridge guarded by a toll house whose doorway is only 3 1/2 feet high! Baslow offers a range of village amenities including shops, pubs and restaurants. Close by is Bakewell, the capital of the Peak District, and home of the famous Bakewell pudding (definitely not tart!), still made locally to an old and secret recipe. Bakewell is at the scenic heart of the Peak District, and with Alton Towers also within easy touring distance, there is plenty for the whole family to enjoy.
