“The caravan was lovely and in a great plot on the park which was very peaceful.”

The cleanliness not so good. The TV unit was thick in dust. We moved a wine glass from the shelf and it left a circle where it had obviously not been polished for ages. The Venetian blinds were thick in dust. The grill would not ignite unless you blew on it or lit it with a match as we were informed by the owner. There were no instructions on how to light the electric fire. I had to get on my knees and look underneath to find some buttons. There was no sign of a remote for it. The DVD remote ...

The DVD remote had no batteries in. No mop to clean the floor and no window hanger to dry clothes from. I was just going to inform the owner of these issues because I would have still liked to have booked again in the future. However, unfortunately my son left the night before us and inadvertently took the only key home, I sent a message to the owner explaining and she asked me to ring her. She wasn’t happy at all and asked could my son drive to Bolton in the next 2 hours with it. I said we would post it and surely they had another key on site. Then she just put the phone down on me, A cleaner turned up a bit later with another key! If it hadn’t been for the complete rudeness of the owner I would have left a better review. We left the caravan more clean than we had found it and she didn’t even ask if we had enjoyed our stay,

You had a few days to inform me of any problems on arrival. As per the confirmation o sent. The caravan was not dirty at all and there was nothing wrong with the grill. I went in to clean myself and the grill worked fine. I did ask you that if you could not sort the grill then let me know and I would send maintenence round. I don’t know where you think it is acceptable to take the key home. It wasn’t and you’re lucky I didn’t withhold your deposit for doing so. If any other potential guests are reading this review then please take note. I ask for the caravan to be left clean, this lady and her family left the caravan dirty, shower grubby and the floors had not been cleaned all week. As for you returning don’t bother, we have enough guests who respect All our vans and return each year, as for the price being high. They are what they are and if you don’t like it, don’t pay it… simples Property Owner

About the location

FLOOKBURGH

Cartmel 2 miles; Grange-over-Sands 3 miles.

A superb base to explore this interesting and beautiful area, the historic village of Flookburgh is set near the shores of Morecambe Bay on the outskirts of the magnificent Lake District. It is thought that the locally-caught Fluke fish take their name after the village, and once, Flookburgh was a popular resting point for travellers crossing the sands from Lancaster and still provides a home for cockle and shrimp fishers. Facilities in the village include a pub, a grocery, a chemist, a Post Office and two food outlets. The Cumbrian Coastal Way footpath passes nearby and a short walk away from the village is delightful countryside, such as Humphrey Head, views of the bay, with its wading bird life, and Coniston's mountain range. A few minutes’ drive or a pleasant off road walk leads to historic Cartmel, with its beautiful Priory, popular race course, antique and gift shops, pubs and restaurants; including the Michelin Star-rated L’Enclume. Just over a mile away you will find the beautiful house and gardens of Holker Hall and also nearby you can try horse riding just six miles to the north at Bigland, or visit the Edwardian resort of Grange, which offers a range of hotels, restaurants, shops, a traffic-free promenade, ornamental gardens and golf courses.
