“We had a wonderful time in Anne’s Lodge,, it was home from home very peaceful and tranquil with stunning views.”

Anne greeted us personally which was nice and introduced us to the lodge. Linen and towels were provided along with hand wash and washing up liquid. The welcome basket was very much appreciated. Lots of lovely places to visit, a wonderful week . Thank you Anne for letting us stay in your beautiful Lodge. Barbara & Paul J .

“Anne and her family are the nicest people you can ever meet.”

The lodge is beautifully equipped with everything you need and spotless. It’s a perfect home from home and nothing is too much trouble. Location is perfect if you’re after peace and quiet with surrounding beautiful countryside. Most destinations are within easy reach and very accessible so you can explore. You will make yourself a new little friend as well in Daisy the dog who is a pleasure. All in all please give this place a try you will not be disappointed We will definitely be returning

“Excellent cabin if you want peace and seclusion, but within easy reach of the many places to visit.”

There are lots of leaflets, maps and guides provided in the cabin for guests. The cabin is clean, comfortable and a real home from home, with everything you could possibly require or need whilst on holiday. The host Anne strikes the perfect balance between being friendly and approachable with any problem or question, without being intrusive of your privacy. We have never stayed in accommodation so well equipped and the welcome pack was a pleasant additional surprise! Thank you Anne, we will be back, as there is so much to see and do, a week really isn't long enough!

“We enjoyed a fantastic stay of two weeks.”

Our host Anne went above and beyond to ensure we had a lovely stay. She even presented us with a bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary on the 14th. The lodge was spotlessly clean and comfortable, it was an amazing lodge going way beyond what we expected. Fantastic views, stunning sunsets. Everything was catered for, we’ve never stayed somewhere where every creature comfort and more was available. Anne is a lovely friendly person and can’t do enough for you even though she works as well as a career for her husband. Of course we can’t forget daisy the friendly pooch. It was well worth the effort of driving from Hampshire and hopefully will stay again if we can. Can’t recommend it highly enough thank you Anne.

“We have just returned from a short break stay in the Lakeland Lodge at west View.”

Owners very warmly welcomed us and was very helpful and we really appreciated the welcoming tea and biscuits. Lodge was of extremely high standard of furnishings and very comfortable with everything we needed for our holiday. Of course we also enjoyed the beautiful sunsets. This is a lovely quiet site where we were able to return from days out visiting the local area all within easy reach. Thank you very much

“This was our second stay in the lodge and, once again, the owner went out of her way to ensure that everything about our stay was truly first class.”

On arrival, we found the accommodation to be spotless and we were pleasantly surprised to find there were many thoughtful touches to make us feel welcome. The owner is friendly and approachable and more than willing to help with any problems - not that we had any. Outside, the views are stunning and the location is wonderfully peaceful. We really didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back again as soon as possible.

The property

This lodge is set on our own small privately owned park, West View Caravan Park, in an unequaled location in which to enjoy total tranquility and enables you to appreciate some of the areas most outstanding views.

Our peaceful country setting is situated in the Gateway to the Lakes, but we are only 10 minutes from Kendal and the historic market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, making it an ideal central location to visit the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales.

The lodge is built to a high standard.

Double bedroom with en-suite shower room, twin bedroom, main bathroom with whirlpool bath and large overhead shower.

A large fitted kitchen/dinning area.

The Lounge has two settees, a 3 seater and a 2 seater.

Outside there are two seating areas, to enjoy the peaceful views of the surrounding countryside. Our bookings run from a Saturday - Saturday (we may be able to offer short breaks) If you are wanting to make your break more special hot tub hire is available through a local company, cumbriahottubhire.co.uk.

They arrange delivery and setting up for you.

We charge £30 per week extra for the electricity.

A historic market town with a fine reputation for shopping, Kendal nestles on the banks of the River Kent and is known as the Southern Gateway to the Lakes. Its old cobbled lanes and byways branch off the attractive main street, and the stone ruins of 12th century Kendal Castle sit perched on a hill with views over the town. Visit The Abbot Hall Art Gallery, its regular collection holding portraits by Kendal born George Romney and works by Turner and Ruskin, with other exhibitions through its links with the Tate.
