“We stayed at glendale hoilday park Ruby's retreat we had a wonderful time there we explored cumbria from Keswick to Buttermere and Cockermouth and Grasmere very beautiful we hiked skiddal and went to the beautiful hoinston pass .”

Ruby's retreat was very clean and had everything we needed . Thanks to Sarah for the welcome basket We were sad to say goodbye . But we will return again down the line . Thank you Sarah for your help and kindness. Best wishes Jason andrea and chewy .

“We had a lovely holiday at Ruby's retreat.”

The caravan was comfortable and had everything we needed. The caravan is well situated for visiting the lake district. We also found the bar on the caravan park served good quality food. We hope to return next year as we enjoyed our time at Ruby's retreat .

“Really enjoyed our stay at Ruby's Retreat.”

Very homely welcome,caravan is very clean and well appointed.If you have a dog with you,you will want for nothing other than food and water! Glendale Park is very well looked after,with good facilities on site.The shop is very small,so take food etc.with you. Can't praise Sarah and her van enough.

The caravan we rented was very clean and well equipped, including WiFi. Site facilities are very good, and the grounds are well maintained We will definitely look to visit again later in the year.

“Caravan was lovely - very clean, nice and warm and cosy, plenty of space and very well equipped for both children and dogs.”

The caravan park is very close to the Solway Firth and there is a path along the shoreline for dog walking. Great play area for kids in the site. Communication with the owner was excellent and there was a welcome basket on arrival which was a really nice touch.

Carlisle 12 miles; Keswick 20 miles.

A traditional Cumbrian market town with a charter granted in 1262, which still holds a market each Friday in the covered market hall, along with an open air car boot sale which is held at Silloth. Wigton is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, and also boasts a theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports. Lord Melvyn Bragg was a native of Wigton, and used the town (called Thurston in some of his writings) and the surrounding area as the setting for his novels including ‘A Time to Dance’. Located 18 miles from Penrith it is a good base for the attractions of the North Lakes, the cathedral city of Carlisle, 12 miles away, Keswick, just north of Derwentwater and close to Lake Bassenthwaite, and the natural beauty of the West Cumbrian Coast. Hadrian’s Wall is within 25 miles, while the Scottish Borders, and Gretna Green, are within easy reach.
