“Just had a long weekend in Tatershall lakes, we went during the rock the lakes weekend (didn't know it was this until after i booked it) so we are going to have to go back when this isn't on.”
Because this event was on alot of other stuff was cancelled, most of gates were locked which meant walking an extra 5 to 10 minutes trying to find ways through.
The kids entertainment was ok but it was in a tent, the wind kept blowing through, and it just felt like it deserved a better location than a tent. Day one we all felt a bit deflated and underwhelmed, but then day 2 we did more and made some memories as a family and really enjoyed it. We only got to go in 2 pubs on site as everything was booked or not suitable for kids. The Tattershall Park Country Pub and Kitchen was nice food, good drinks and decent service. This was a nice suprise as we'd heard horror stories about it.
There is a decent amount of stuff to do onsite but compared to other holiday parks this one was quite underwhelming, especially when I've heard good things from friends.
Again i can't give a clear opinion on the place as it was the rock event so we'd have to go back to experience it better but not 100% sure we want to, still undecided.
What i would say is our caravan was really good, had a hot tub and was a 20 minute walk to the main facilities, and laura couldn't do enough for us.
Overall I'd rate Tatershall a 6/10 but the event took over the site, which would have been fine for me and my wife but our 3 year old wasn't too happy with it and our 9 year old wasn't too interested in it.
