Settled on the east coast of Norfolk rests the seaside town of Caister-on-Sea, just north of Great Yarmouth. Famed as one of the oldest towns in the country, Caister-on-Sea boasts a history dating back to to the Roman times, taking its name from the Anglo-Saxon word 'ceaster' meaning 'Roman fort', in commemoration of the fort built in 200 CE as a base for Roman troops.
