Gwalchmai is a small, rural village located in the centre of Anglesey situated on a rocky landscape, named after the poet Gwalchmai ap Meilyr. This vibrant little village is home to golf courses, health clubs, and some of the best water-sport facilities in the country, with easy access to all parts of the island, whilst further amenities lie in the town of Llangefni, where you’ll find additional eateries and an Art Gallery. The area has a windmill to the South and Llyn Hendref lies to the northeast. Spend a whole day exploring the countryside here or take to the sea for a series of boat trips on the clear waters, with Trearddur Bay, Benllech, and Rhosneigr recognised as popular beaches. Anglesey Sea Zoo and Plas Newydd are only a short distance away. Anglesey’s iconic coastal path is also within reach, it spans an impressive 140 miles, meandering through picturesque coastal towns and villages, there is something to suit all tastes!
