“I recently rented the van from Amy and Steph at the end of June for a short weekend break.”
I was really impressed with how fairly priced it was, which is what made me choose this one over others I had seen listed. I had originally planned to bring my dog along but ended up going without him.
The caravan is in a great spot on the site. It is just across from Dragon Lake, where you will find all the restaurants, a couple of bars, the kids’ activities, and a shop, so everything you need is nearby.
The van itself is a decent size and most of the facilities were good. However, the main issue was the cleanliness. As soon as we walked in, it was clear the van was dog-friendly. It had a musty smell, almost like it had not been aired properly. We opened the windows, which helped, but as we looked around more, we began to notice quite a few unclean areas.
There was yellow staining, likely dog urine, that had rusted onto the radiator in the bathroom. The hob in the kitchen had grease on it, the sofa in the main seating area had a few visible marks, and the carpet was stained as well. We cooked one day, and when my mum went to grab a tray, it was dripping in grease. When we went to hoover before leaving, we turned it on and it gave off a strong dog smell, which was unpleasant.
Overall, the van served its purpose and the location was great, but there is definitely room for improvement in terms of cleanliness and general upkeep.
Lastly, dealing with Steph was not the easiest. When we left, I sent her two messages asking about my deposit refund but received no reply. In the end, my partner had to send an email, and it was Amy who responded and refunded the money.
