I toyed with leaving this review, but I booked this based on the positive reviews, so think I should be fair and honest.
We had no contact at all with the owner, until the morning of the day we were due to check in, and this was to let us know we could check in early, which was nice. However, I had to asked the caravan number, we had a nightmare finding it because its in the middle, behind other caravans. We honestly didn't know where to go or what to do, other than go to the caravan park.
You can only just see the park from the caravan. Certainly not enough to leave younger children unattended.
There was nothing at the caravan for the WiFi and no dvds as stated, and we didn't take much, because we thought there would be WiFi there.
The caravan itself, smelt terrible. Really awful damp smell and when investigating, under the couches there was lots of mould, and on some of the curtains. I honestly didn't want to stay there and wanted to go home.
The beds were dirty, and there was no bedding. We've only been on one caravan holiday before, and bedding was supplied.
When I asked the owner, I was just told 'no there's not, like stated on my advert, may I suggest you go to tesco' which we did, and it cost us £170 on bedding and air fresheners.
I've since checked the ad a number of times and although it doesn't state 'bedding supplied' it also doesn't say it isn't. So we didn't know.
Cutlery in the draw needed washing before use, because there was still food on loads. Under the beds were dirty. The floor was sticky in one of the rooms.
I honestly wished I spent the extra £200, booking a caravan at haven ????
I can only assume all the reviews and pictures, are from a long time ago, and the caravan hasn't been used for a very long time.
The area of the caravan is amazing! Just a couple of minutes walk to the beach. Not far from town at all.
In response to this review which the guest says is fair and honest is in fact the total opposite. Firstly I would just like to say I always send over all information to my guests one week before they arrive and I have never in all the years I have rented had any problems with my guests not reading their information sent . Also I have never had someone ring me on their arrival to ask what number the caravan is and is there any bedding I think that speaks for itself about this guest. I do provide quilts mattress protectors and pillow protectors I would also like to had that this lady apologised over the phone to me for not reading her information properly regarding having to bring her own bedding . I would also add I tried to help her out as much as I could by suggesting there is a Tesco just over the road if she needed to get some bedding she replied thank you I have been and got some. no issues no problems reported then or over the next couple of nights of her stay , but on her review she’s made out it wasn’t a pleasant exchange of words which again is totally exaggerated and I could not of been more helpful. Also if the guest had read the menu page she would of seen that bedding provided was not ticked so that would obviously mean to bring your own bedding . I would also suggest to her to never leave her kids unattended in a park no mater how near or far the park is situated
Again if the guest would of opened her information sent she would of had the number for the caravan and exactly where it is situated. Again if she had read all information she would of seen no Wi-Fi as the site have stopped providing it and I’m in the process of setting it up but the process is unfortunately very slow but hopefully up and running soon . As far as the caravan smelling damp and their being mould I can assure all my future guests this part of the review is not true and i especially go and do the cleaning myself as I I am very particular on how spotless my caravan is which shows from all my previous guest reviews . Also the cutlery draw being dirty is another lie as I personally check it before I leave the van and it was as usual spotlessly clean. I can only take from this guest because of her stupidity and not checking all information out until she got in the caravan then having to spend an exaggerated amount of money on bedding she is a little upset and she is taking her frustration out on my review page . And might I also suggest you go to haven next holiday as your certainly not welcome in my caravan again as I only take nice people who can read information properly and appreciate a beautiful spotlessly clean caravan as all my previous guests have done
