The caravan was filthy the owner should be ashamed!”

We wasn't bothered the caravan was quite dated inside as long as it was clean……………
We stayed here with our 4 children for one night we had to squeeze in with family for the remaining of the trip.
as soon as you walked in it smelt of damp and mould! But it gets worse………
The complete caravan was covered in dust not just a little a lot!!! and cobwebs! When the light was shining in from outside it shown the dust in all its glory! It was everywhere!! Every surface was covered.
Not good for two of us who were asthmatic!
The floors were full of bits and dirt and you’ve guessed it dust!!!
The cooker and splash back was covered in grime and old yellow grease stains that could easily been cleaned off with the correct cleaning product.
The bathroom sink was clogged up with someone’s elses hair and elastic bobbles ????
The floor in the bathroom had dust all over the floor that had gone like black from the dirt off the floor! And other peoples hair mingled in !????
The lamps in the bedroom were growing mould!!! ????
The plastic coverings around the doors were falling off -the door handle to one of the bedrooms door handles was off and on the floor!
Cleanliness is a basic need for anyone! I’d say even more so if you’re advertising and renting this caravan out!
I’m not one for making complaints but I felt I needed to after this experience!
I contacted Denise directly sending her the photos - she apologised and was very nice to start with! Saying she will sort it out. She’d never had a complaint before - then to be told the cleaner was off sick!!!!!!
And no one told me????????
I should have been told and offered a refund there and then!
She has a duty of care for people staying on her caravan and it was a health hazard.
How owners can do this to families is beyond me.
I kept asking for a refund, she said £100 I said that’s not acceptable- I’d like a full refund- she said she needs to go and check the caravan, I thought thank god she can see where I’m
Coming from!!!!!!! But no
Then she said I’ll see if I can do £150 I asked was that with my £100 damages this was my response.
“ because we stayed for one night” the £395 will cover the 5 days of electric! Because we apparently left a light and tv in stand by!!!!! Let me tell you my monthly electric bill with a family of 7 is £140 so how the hell she’s worked that out I don’t know!!!
And I told her I was going to log a full review as she wouldn’t help me directly she threatened to get me banned from renting out a van again with ukcaravans4hire.com.
Don’t do business with this owner .
We're sorry to hear you had issues upon arrival, however as stated in your booking confirmation, we are available to deal with any problems you may face during your stay and will rectify them ASAP, you decided not to make us aware and just left the caravan without any communication leaving 3 lights switched on and the tv on fully for days. We cannot give you a full refund when you didn't even give us an opportunity to put things right for you so that you could enjoy your holiday. Issues happen but are rare, and we do our best to sort them promptly.
