“I honestly don’t know where to start with this one.”
We were advised to arrive at caravan for 4 and it wasn’t ready until 6:30pm. We had shopping being delivered that spoilt due to time out of cold chain. I had a young baby that needed feeding at the time and the kids to get showered and ready to go to the entertainment. We got down there at 8:35! We entered the caravan to an awful smell on the “fresh bedding” which smelt like vomit.. when mentioned to the owner this detail was skimmed over.
We then discovered after the 1st night that the heating in the room we had the baby’s cot in was broken and he was stone cold. We again spoke to the owner who advised haven for us. The owner was helpful but only to a certain extent and didn’t seem to sympathise too much as we asked to be moved to another listing and the idea was again skimmed over even though it was available to hire. The whole holiday we had to use 3 blankets on him on a night and he was still cold. To which we all have snotty noses and colds. The curtains in the van are hanging on for dear life resulting in not much privacy and again doesn’t help towards keeping the heat in. None of the water in the van was hot, all Luke warm so didn’t feel clean when washing the pots and when trying to shower my 4 year old it was an ordeal as she was frozen! Haven came to assist with this on behalf of the owner but due to the van type this wasn’t resolved. The glass door panel is loose which is very dangerous. Everything provided in the kitchen was old and dirty including the cupboards it was all kept in and washing up bowl I had to clean before cleaning in it. All in all a very very tired old van and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It honestly ruined our holiday we were here 7 nights which is a long time with 2 young children. We luckily had friends staying in a lovely van and we chose to sleep on the floor in their van over this one. How this has the rating it does I will never know! Maybe this is based on location which is the only thing I can give a good rating for.
Very disappointed
You didn't report the heater not working until saturday - which you actually text me saying " had to choose whether my 4 year old or 4 month old got the heating". I reported to haven immediately - they sent 3 people out which all found nothing wrong with the heating, I am going to upload the voicemails and emails they couldn't understand how you thought it wasn't working.
Also there is 2 beds per room so the 4 month and 4 year old could of shared if you didn't know how to work the heating.
You arrived and the cleaner was still there, so you have stated yourself it got a 2.5 hour clean, but then give a 1 for cleanliness? I told you another caravan had been left messy, which maybe you thought was this van.
You asked to be moved to another caravan which I said was booked, you also wanted it free of charge. The caravan you requested is 3/4 times the price of this one, so even if it was available I wouldnt of given free of charge as you should of booked that first off if that was the spec of caravan you wanted.
You never mentioned anything about water been cold, but I was there at the weekend and it was hot, so I came in straight after you leaving. I also stayed there with a 6 week old.
