“Exceptional!”

We have just arrived home. Best lodge we’ve stayed in. We’ve stayed at loads of different resorts, farm lodges, holiday parks and this was a step above the rest. The view in the morning from the decking was fantastic. The space, cleanliness and attention to detail in the lodge itself was like none we’ve had before. Wee bit of a walk to the reception which we actually enjoyed, plus it ensures you are next to the quiet guests. Loved every minute, it’s been 25 years since I was last at ...

“This lodge is stunning!”

We have stayed in lots at Haggerston Castle but this one is by far the best. It's in a very peaceful area with stunning views over the lake from the biggest wrap around decking I've seen. There is an additional deck at the front off the master bedroom so no matter what time of day you can sit in the sun. The wardrobe space is big enough to house all the clothing I own and the onsuite bathroom is bigger than most main bathrooms I've been in before. Beds are really comfy in both bedrooms. I've not had a better sleep in years. The kitchen is large and very well equipped with a big American style fridge freezer. They even have cooking scales and a mixer. You couldn't ask for anything more. Living room has comfy sofa and two armchairs and the sun room has a two seater sofa in as well Plenty to keep kids amused on rainy days with a PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. The TV has Netflix Amazon and YouTube that didn't buffer with the lodges own WiFi. Sorry if I've missed anything about this lodge but everything was perfect and we will definitely book again.

The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous views over looking the lake. The lodge was fully equipped and absolutely spotless. We’ve stayed many times at Haggerston and stayed in some lovely caravans/lodges but this was by far the nicest. Would recommend anyone looking to book Haggerston to book this lovely lodge. “Fantastic stay!”

Well equipped, immaculate and couldn’t have asked for better accommodation. We arrived and all the directions and instructions were on hand to make it as easy as possible. It’s very spacious so we didn’t feel confined as a family of five to a small living space. Beautiful views to wake up to and sit and enjoy a coffee. Extremely peaceful and very little noise from others.

“Arrived 21july 4pm we left at 6.”

30 after finding king size bed with 3 areas of urine stains we contacted the male owner who would not consider there were any stains even after explaning that lady in the next lodge was shown the stains and also said she would not sleep on the mattress either. we were offered only 1 nights money back on a take it or leave it ,owner also said if we had not taken our own bedding we would not have noticed it, the stains, disgusted. also bird muck on decking and table and chairs outside also swinging hammock chair as advertised was missing , a 200 mile round trip for nothing .

It is very disappointing to read your review following our detailed telephone conversation. As discussed we take great pride in our family lodge and the rigorous cleaning regimes. I assured you that the small marks under the mattress protector were definitely not urine and was the result of a small juice spillage which soaked through the mattress protector near the edge of the mattress. You agreed that there was absolutely no odour from the mattress or any other issues with the cleanliness of the lodge. The mattresses regularly undergo specialist cleaning to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness. However, all marks can never be fully removed despite mattress protectors and cleaning. The mattress is less than a year old and we ourselves sleep on that mattress every time we stay at our lodge. Despite the above we offered you a new mattress from another lodge or to move you to another owners lodge to ensure you were happy and could enjoy your stay. However, disappointingly you said you still did not wish to stay as this would eat into you holiday time despite the fact it would only take about 20 minutes to arrange. Despite trying everything to resolve your concerns which you were not willing to accept I still offered you some money back which given the circumstances I think is extremely fair. Regarding the two bird droppings on the decking I’m afraid I cannot guarantee that this will not happen given we are in a costal location and on a lakefront with many birds living in the area. As can be seen by the many many excellent reviews that have been posted here over many years, we have never had any concerns over cleanliness and are extremely disappointed you felt this way. I also genuinely believe that if you had let us resolve this issue for you at the time you would have had a great stay. Property Owner

“Stayed in this beautiful lodge with our two young daughters aged 11months and 7 years and had a fantastic break.”

Chris was extremely helpful via email from the time of booking and made everything very smooth. The lodge itself is in a lovely spot over looking the lake. There is everything you could possibly need - very well equipped indeed! The lodge was spotless and beds were comfortable. Large fridge freezer and all home comforts made our stay easy with the kids. Lots of cleaning products and spare everything meant you were never short of anything you may need. The walk to the main complex takes about 10/15 mins and we enjoyed this as we felt like we were far enough from the hustle and bustle of the entertainment complex to enjoy peace and quiet on our return. Nothing negative at all to say about our stay and we will most definitely be back in the near future.

“We booked this last minute and at first thought it was a little bit pricey, but paid it anyway.”

Then when we arrived , we very quickly realised it was worth every penny! The lodge itself is beautiful and spacious and well equipped with all mod cons and kitchen accessories and utensils that you would need, including a dish washer and washer/dryer! It is located on Badger lakes, so surrounded with wildlife and very peaceful. Every morning we were greeted off the ducks, swans and geese. We even seen a hare hopping past! Which our 7 year old daughter and 20 year old son loved! It is about a 10/15 minute walk to the main complex, so we always drove over there. Communication with Chris was excellent and efficient! We absolutely loved staying at this lodge! So much so that we tried to extend our stay, but unfortunately it was already booked up (which was hardly surprising) We want to thank Chris and Penny for letting us stay at their beautiful lodge! I’m sure we will be back again very soon…

“What a lovely lodge!”

The photos do not do it justice. Just spent a week here and having visited many Haven sites, this was put first visit to the Haggerston park. We were blown away by just how clean and picturesque the site it; I can honestly say it was the best Haven we have visited. The lodge is spacious, immaculately clean and has all of those little extras that you often forget when you go to a caravan park. It is situated in the most loveliest of locations and has views looking out over the lake! We initially thought it was far from the main site, but then pubs the sneaky cut through so walking to main facilities (bars, pool, takeaways etc) only 10 mins. . The owner was amazing, comms extremely clear and such an easy process to book. The site is situated just of the A1 so places such as Alnwick, Bamburgh, holy island are all within a 30 min drive. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely lodge! We will certainly be back!!

“A beautiful lodge for our stay with 3 children under 6.”

Perfect location for us at badger lakes with a gorgeous outlook to the lake and the lodge itself had everything we needed and more- a real home from home and so child and toddler friendly. Chris was so helpful too and made everything straight forward for our arrival. The deck is one of the best on the park! We loved that is was tucked away in a quiet spot in the park but big playpark, crazy golf etc. all just a few mins walk. The main complex is around 15mins walk. Also amazing base for the beautifully beaches nearby. Just perfect!

I can honestly say this is by far the nicest lodge we have ever stayed in. It’s absolutely immaculate, the outside decking area is fantastic, the beds are so comfy (my 11 year old boy has never slept so well) the communication from Chris from the very day we booked was excellent and he explained everything in a clear way. “Beautiful luxury caravan with ample room and space for the five of us.”

We used the travel cot which fitted well in bedroom and there wasn’t anything we needed extra that wasn’t supplied. Great area of site in a more peaceful part (as a big visitor of this park I have stayed in most parts a lot of which can have the night time entertainment blaring) you couldn’t hear a thing here. I have booked a few times with this owner and wouldn’t use anyone else now

“This is a beautiful caravan.”

It is well kitted-out with everything including good quality bedding, towels, dishes and cookware. A bonus for us was to have a great Wi-Fi signal and a device for streaming Netflix, BBC iPlayer etc. all set up. Despite this property being located rather a long walk from the entertainment complex, it was worth it because this part of the park is nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend this caravan and the park as well.

“We had a fantastic holiday in this lodge.”

It is in a beautiful location, very quiet spot with lovely views of the lake. It suited us perfectly to be in a quiet spot but within walking distance to site facilities. The lodge was clean and all facilities were thought of, so if we forgot anything it was there. Everything in the lodge was of a high quality. This was our first holiday with our toddler, everything needed was provided and the decking was a large area and very secure so he had plenty of room to wander around. Similarly in the lodge it was safe and comfortable for both our toddler and adults. Communication and organisation with Chris was fantastic - prompt, clear and very helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic holiday and would definitely book again.

It is in the best location on the large haggerston castle site. The lake in front and a field full of lambs behind. It was wonderful to wake up to such a view, having a coffee on the deck. The mobile home was very tastefully decorated, it had a fantastic layout and contained everything you could possibly need. I would highly recommend it.

“Amazing stay.”

The prompt communication and service I received from my enquiry with Chris through to departure was excellent. The lodge itself was beautiful. Catered for everything, never did we think there was something missing actually the complete opposite. Perfect location with views over the lake and spacious surroundings which allowed the children (aged between 12 and 2) to venture out to play safely. The lodge was simply perfect in every way. “PARKING UP AT THE CARAVAN I WAS ALREADY IMPRESSED.”

IT HAD ITS OWN PARKING SPACES RIGHT OUTSIDE THE HOME. IT APPEARED TO BE THE BIGGEST CARAVAN TOO. IT WAS SURROUNDED BY BEAUTIFUL DECKING THAT WAS ENCLOSED WHICH WAS A BONUS AS WE HAD OUR 14MONTH OLD SON. HE WAS FREE TO WALK ABOUT WITHOUT ANY DANGERS. THERE WAS PLENTY SEATING ON THE DECKING AREA AND THE VIEW OF THE LAKE WAS STUNNING. IT WAS SO PEACEFUL. WALKING INSIDE I WAS TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY. IT WAS JUST LIKE A HOME FROM HOME. EVERYTHING WAS IMMACULATE FROM INSIDE TO OUT. THEY HAD ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING YOU COULD THINK OF, ESPECIALLY IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO ALOT OF SELF CATERING. THEY ALSO HAD A TRAVEL COT AND HIGH CHAIR WHICHED SAVED US BRINGING OURS. WE HONESTLY DID NOT WANT TO LEAVE. COMMUNICATION WAS SUPER FAST AND EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTHLY. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR LETTING US STAY. WE WILL BE BACK.

The property

Enjoy some luxury in this high-end lodge located on a prime lake-front spot with panoramic lake views.

Entertainment is also never far away either as the lodge is located on Haggerston Castle which is one of Haven’s flagship parks and has been fully renovated with a state-of-the-art new main entertainment complex area. This large lodge is on the lake-front at the very popular Badger Lakes area of the park and has a huge south-facing wraparound decking which is the biggest on park.

Complete with rattan garden furniture which means you can comfortably enjoy the sunshine all day long.

This lodge has a high specification interior complete with a fully fitted kitchen including American-Style fridge freezer, full-size dishwasher and washer-dryer.

The spacious lounge has large floor to ceiling windows giving lots of natural light and offering panoramic views of the lake.

The lounge is complete with a large wall mounted TV, bluetooth music speaker and Playstation 4 with a selection of games, and movies.

The spacious master bedroom has a king size bed, dressing room area and large en-suite with double shower.

The second bedroom is a twin-room with fitted wardrobes.

Both bedrooms are complete with televisions and additionally the twin room has a DVD player. There is a lovely sunroom just off the main lounge and this has the option of acting as a third bedroom which can be closed off with the by-folding doors and has a comfortable pull-out small double sofa bed. Please note that the normal check-in/check-out days for Haggerston Castle are Mondays and Fridays and although we can accept bookings for arrivals and departures on other days we do prefer where possible for guests to arrive and depart on these days.

This is also better for guests as some of the park facilities are not available on Mondays and Fridays such as the pre-booked activities. Of course we are also very fortunate at Haggerston to have so many wonderful attractions, beautiful countryside and coastlines surrounding the park so there is never a shortage of things to do.
