“We have enjoyed a wonderful holiday at Meadow View Retreat.”

We found the accomodation to be of the highest quality, extremly light, immaculately clean, and so very comfortable. Our host Claire was friendly, informative and helpful throughout the booking process and stay. Bockenfield offers a number of facilities, is very well maintained and managed by very polite and helpful staff. The location couldn't be any better, it's wonderfully peaceful, quiet, and tranquil with superb uninterrupted views of the surounding countryside and the Cheviot hills ...

There are many lovely coastal towns and villages located in close proximity, as well as numerous and unspoiled pet friendly beaches. This location offers a perfect base to explore the beautiful countryside and rich history of Northumberland. A most memorable holiday, made even more so by the hosts' impeccable attention to detail and care. Thank you, we will undoubtably be back.

The lovely market town of Morpeth is situated centrally in Northumberland and is an ideal base from which to reach the coast or countryside. Offering the remains of an historic castle, lovely parks, riverside walks, ancient architecture and churches and an old chantry with a bagpipe museum, Morpeth is also ideal for visiting surrounding attractions such as Druridge Bay to the east, with miles of golden sands, the vibrant city of Newcastle to the south, Alnwick to the north, with its castle and gardens and the National Trust's Wallington Hall to the west. There is also access to the Simonside and Cheviot Hills, with good walking amidst beautiful countryside.
