The hosts are charming and friendly, the Lodge is comfortable and kitted out with everything you'd need. On site bar (with food) is dog friendly. If you don't think the beach is much when the tides in - go again when it's out. If you enjoy fish, don't miss going to The Fish Shack at Amble (booking recommend and also dog friendly). We wouldn't hesitate to book this Lodge again if we're visiting the area

Northumberland itself is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife. 3.3 miles away is the large town of Ashington and within reach is Stakeford, which overlooks the River Wansbeck.
