“Absolute nightmare from the start.”
Arrived at the caravan late on the friday evening, and due to the cleanliness of the van i was unable to stay in it. There were stains on the carpet, the oven hadnt been cleaned, there was mould in the fridge, the blinds had about a years worth of dust on them. Was unable to get in contact with the owner. Went through UK caravans for this, who managed to contact him. He sent the cleaner back, who cleaned the carpet & the oven. Nothing else. Contacted the owner again, cleaner could come back but ...
Arrived at the caravan late on the friday evening, and due to the cleanliness of the van i was unable to stay in it. There were stains on the carpet, the oven hadnt been cleaned, there was mould in the fridge, the blinds had about a years worth of dust on them. Was unable to get in contact with the owner. Went through UK caravans for this, who managed to contact him. He sent the cleaner back, who cleaned the carpet & the oven. Nothing else. Contacted the owner again, cleaner could come back but not until the next day. It was agreed i would clean the van myself & he would contact me on the monday afternoon to agree and sort something out as i had cleaned the van. The call never came. I then received a call on the wednesday afternoon, from the owner, stating as the finance company had taken the van back, he no longer owned the van & we had to vacate the van by 5pm that evening. The staff at the park were great with myself & my family, but unfortunately there was nothing they could do. I lived 5 hours away so wasnt able to drive home at that point with 2 small children. The owner had to pay for another van for myself and my family to stay in for the last 2 nights, which he wasnt happy with, but we had no other option. I have since tried to claim a partial refund due to my holiday being inconvenienced, with the state of the van and then having to leave the van, which unfortunately i was only offered £100 goodwill gesture as the owner didnt see or agree why i should get anything as he paid for another van. I would not recommend hiring from Dean again.
