The property

Set in the tranquil location of Blue Anchor bay, our lovely 2022 spacious, cosy, caravan has scenic country views.

Ideal location for exploring the coastline, Exmoor or simply relaxing.

Sleeps 4 - king-size bed plus en-suite.

Well behaved dogs welcome. Sit back and unwind in the superb tranquil setting of Blue Anchor seafront. Please note that shorter breaks are available - a minimum of 4 nights This is our caravan we use ourselves, so you can expect to find everything you need within a homely setting.

The only thing we ask you to provide will be the bed linen - sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases for all of the beds that you intend to use - plus bath towels. All quilts and pillows are provided.

If you wish to use the travel cot please note that you will also require all bedding for this. We have done our utmost to ensure that everything else has been catered for to make your stay relaxing. The caravan site is ideal for couples and young families - please note that there is no entertainment or clubhouse on site. The caravan has an open lounge/kitchen diner and is double glazed with gas central heating. The lounge has a Freeview tv, DVD player plus board games, books and a selection of DVDs. The kitchen comes fully equipped and has an integrated fridge/freezer, built in microwave, and gas cooker/hob. The caravan has 2 bedrooms - the master has a King-size bed, generous wardrobe space, dressing table and a en-suite toilet.

The second bedroom has 2 single beds and a wardrobe. The main bathroom has a walk-in shower, WC and basin. The caravan benefits from wrap around decking offering SOUTH facing views overlooking the countryside, enjoying sunshine all day long with the steam train passing through (daytime only).

The decking has a secure gate which is brilliant for the safety of young children and dogs.

Brand new patio furniture/parasol are to be found on the decking.

Buckets and spades are also provided for our younger guests. On the Hoburne site you will find an indoor heated pool, sauna, steam room, plus a small fitness suite - these can all be accessed for a small charge via reception (but only outside of the school holidays and Bank Holiday weekends).

Free Wi-Fi access is on site.

Other amenities onsite include a laundrette, café/restaurant with outdoor seating overlooking the bay, and 2 children's play areas.

The beach is adjacent to the caravan site - with dogs allowed on all year round - and has views across to South Wales.

There are many local walks suitable for dogs from the site - and when you return there is a warm shower hose outside reception that can be used to wash down your dog if needed. Within walking distance of the caravan site is the steam railway station (advanced booking recommended), the popular Driftwood café serving breakfasts, homemade cakes and lunches, the Smugglers Inn is to be recommended for its Sunday Carvery, it also has a large beer garden.

A 5 minute drive will take you to Watchet, Dunster and Minehead.

Watchet is a fishing village with a marina and there are bars, restaurants and various shops to be found.

Dunster is a medieval village with a NT castle and grounds that just has to be visited.

The Luttrell Arms serves excellent food and I recommend their secret garden to sit back and enjoy the views alongside your lunch.

Minehead is the main town in the area and is home to a number of bars/restaurants, cafes, takeaways, etc.

You will also find Tescos, Morrisons, Lidl all located next to each other in Minehead. From the caravan you can walk to Dunster village, castle and the lovely sandy beach.

There is a large car park at Dunster beach with food and drink available plus a toilet block.

Moving on from Minehead you will come to Porlock, Lynton and Lynmouth which are all very much worth a visit.

Exmoor itself is a short drive away with numerous walks - maps of the Exmoor and other local areas are available in the caravan for your use. A well behaved dog is welcome but we ask that the covers are left on the sofas to protect them and ask kindly that dogs are kept off the beds at all times.

We understand dogs get muddy and we have provided a basket of towels to help keep them clean.

Hoburne site rules insist that dogs are kept on leads at all times whilst on the site.

If you are bringing your dog please note that our caravan includes dog bed (blanket required), dog bowls, drying towels and sofa covers.

We find the warm dog shower outside the reception is so handy after a walk along the beach!

Strictly NO Smoking or Vaping either inside the caravan or outside on the decking. Please note Check in and out times must be adhered too unless by prior arrangement Arrival 2.30pm onwards Depart 10.30am prompt Please note a £75 holding deposit is required and this will then be returned on confirmation that everything has been left clean, tidy and that there is no damage 5 days after your check-out, pleas check your online booking for specific date and time.

About the location

BLUE ANCHOR

Dunster 3 miles; Lynton 9 miles; Weston-Super-Mare 43 miles.

Blue Anchor is a small coastal hamlet in west Somerset, three miles from medieval Dunster. Well known for its alabaster rocks, which are of great geological interest, Blue Anchor is a quiet and peaceful seaside location with a wide beach, plentiful fossils and a promenade three quarters of a mile long with scenic views of Dunster Castle and Minehead Bay beyond. It offers peaceful relaxation, is popular with anglers who fish off the promenade, and is just a short steam train ride on the West Somerset Railway from Minehead. The Blue Anchor station waiting room and booking office have been lovingly restored, using Great Western fittings, many of them original, and the Railway Museum is housed in the former waiting room. Walk along the beach from Blue Anchor to Dunster, enjoying the views across the channel towards Wales, and wander through the medieval streets with the beautiful castle towering above. Inside the castle are fine plasterwork ceilings, while the extensive terraced and landscaped gardens contain many rare shrubs and trees, and offer marvellous views out to sea. Further afield, Minehead has golden sandy beaches, seaside attractions, and plenty of cafes, shops and bistros.
