Caravan holidays in Looe

Looe

Arguably one of the most idyllic spots in Cornwall, Looe is an unforgettable destination for a caravan holiday. There are some fantastic holiday parks in and around Looe ranging from all-singing, all-dancing (literally!) sites with entertainment, swimming pools, activities, convenience shops and clubhouses to more secluded holiday parks where the location speaks for itself, and the backdrop is the stunning surroundings of the captivating Cornwall coastline.

Why Take A Caravan Holiday in Looe?

It’s all about the beaches at Looe, where some beautiful stretches of golden sand can be found. It can get busy during the summer, but if you’re willing to go off the beaten track a little, you can always find more secluded spots. Check out the main beach at East Looe, the dog-friendly Hanafore Beach, Talland Bay, Polperro, Millandraeth and Seaton, all ideal for packing a picnic and heading out for the day. Just imagine relaxing and soaking up the spectacular surroundings while the kids have a paddle, make sandcastles or explore rock pools for all manner of mini-beasts.

Places to Vist During CaravanHolidays in Looe

A short but scenic drive is the infamous Eden Project, a must-visit while you’re on a caravan holiday to Looe. Created from a disused clay pit more than 20 years ago, the project has become known all over the world for its work to raise awareness of the need to protect our environment.

This interactive experience offers something for everyone, including a gigantic indoor rainforest and vast outdoor gardens, a natural adventure play area for the children and a zip wire and adventure activities. There are miles of dog-friendly outdoor paths to be discovered, and throughout the summer, there is an arts and culture programme offering an exciting schedule of events. There is more than enough to keep even the most curious of families entertained for the day at The Eden Project but remember, it gets busy in the summer, so make sure to book ahead!

For the opportunity to get up close and personal with all nature of animals, from cute pets and farm animals to exotic creatures from far-flung places, Porfell Wildlife Park is the perfect family day out.

Check out the parrots, owls, reptiles, monkeys, zebras, eland, ostrich and meerkats, as well as cuddly rabbits, guinea pigs, chicks, ducks, pigs, goats, chipmunks, ferrets and even a chinchilla. Immerse yourself in the authentic replica Maasai village, which is found within the African enclosure and is surrounded by zebra, ostrich and eland, helping to make you feel like you’ve travelled to the African savannah.

You can also meet the owls and watch a lemur’s tea party. There is a child’s farm and ancient woodland to walk through with nature trails and picnic benches, so if the sun is shining, pack a picnic, stay a while and soak up the beautiful surroundings. There is also a tea room and a gift shop on-site to pick up a memento of your outing.

For something a bit different, Carnglaze Caverns is a brilliant family attraction, ideal whatever the weather. Find out more about Cornwall’s mining heritage, explore this fascinating underground world, and walk through eight acres of riverside woodland, with model fairies, dragons and mythical creatures dotted along the way with streams and a beautiful waterfall, helping to create a truly magical environment. Walk through Quarry Wood, and you will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views. Don’t forget to take your camera!

Towns near Looe to visit include Polperro, Seaton, Downderry, Millandraeth, and Whitsand Bay, with Newquay, Padstow, and Plymouth being less than an hour by car.

Visitors to Cornwall always fall in love with the timeless appeal of this beautiful part of the world, and a caravan holiday to Looe promises to deliver a truly memorable break.
