Sandpiper

Stayed for a week and loved it.

We did have good weather though which helped but non the less it’s a lovely caravan on a well kept site. Everything there to cook meals. A basin though would be handy. Staff are friendly. View from caravan is straight out to sea. Amazingly quiet for our stay. Can catch a bus into Whitehaven. Supermarkets in Whitehaven only a short drive. Can walk to convenience store easily, over the railway line and straight on. Pub there does Sunday lunch 2 for £25. Visit to the priory very informative about past. Only downside was the coastal path closed due to subsidence. Although some idiots ignored notice. Still nice walks about. Low tide reveals lots of different jellyfish. All in all great place and recommend. One major thing is the wifi is VERY intermittent. Best signal near patio doors. Bit of a nuisance but we managed and would not put us off. After all your on holiday nice to leave the world behind.

Excellent holiday park

We recently stayed in this budget-friendly caravan and had a generally pleasant visit, with a few areas that could be improved.

On the positive side, the caravan was clean, although some sweet wrappers were left in the bedroom. It was comfortable, and in a fantastic location. Being so close to the beach and coastal walks was a real highlight, and our grandchildren especially loved having the play park right next door. However, we did find the caravan rather sparsely equipped. For a unit that can sleep 8 people, there were only two glass tumblers provided, no placemats or coasters, and just one small frying pan. There were also no trivets and only a single small wooden chopping board, which made self-catering a bit challenging. In addition, only one bed was made up on arrival, which was unexpected. The biggest drawback for us—particularly with grandchildren—was the lack of reliable WiFi. There was little to no connection, and with poor phone signal as well, this meant no access to streaming or online games. We were fortunate to have good weather, but this could be a significant issue for others. Overall, this is a well-located and comfortable base, but a few practical additions and improved connectivity would make a big difference to guests’ experience. We would stay again if the WiFi improved and would pay more.

Definitely recommend to any family. Lots of space and everything in working order. Warm and cosy even when windy and raining! Easy to use boiler and controls fo the heating. Stunning views we couldn't stop looking at the waves! Beach walk is a must and the costal path St Bees Head is definitely a to do to appreciate the views. Will return in future maybe in the summer months to enjoy the beach more.

The caravan was nice, clean and comfortable, however it wasnt like a private caravan in that there was no hoover, hairdryer etc, but could be borrowed from reception.

.. The caravan is advertised as having patio furniture but there wasnt any. I asked at reception and was told someone would bring some chairs...they didnt. All in all though, we would probably go to the site again. It was peaceful and had a lovely view. I personally think the caravan is just a normal site holiday home, not private.
