Penlan is a small holiday lodge park of privately owned Swiss-style holiday lodges, situated in beautiful woodland settings rich in wildlife in Carmarthenshire West Wales. If your ideal holiday home is near our spectacular coast-line or our breathtaking country-side or positioned in a fabulous woodland natural park with great on site facilities. We have the home for you as it isthe perfect place to retreat to for a quiet break away, or as a base to explore Cardigan Bay and West Wales. Penlan Holiday park is surrounded by 200 year old oak and beech trees, giving cool and dappled wooded glades. The park is a haven of wildlife, from rabbits, hedgehogs, squirrels, and many birds like woodpeckers and nuthatch are just a few to mention. Salmon fishing at the scenic Cencarth Falls right on the door step as well as pet friendly pubs less than a mile from the park.

Just a few minutes’ drive further on will bring you to the market town of Newcastle Emlyn which has an array of independent shops, pubs, coffee shops and a supermarket. The village of Cenarth itself is famous for its waterfalls, where the River Teifi tumbles dramatically over the rocks and you may catch the amazing sight of the salmon leaping up the falls if you are here in the autumn! The riverside walks are lovely and a visit to the museum in the 17th-century flour mill, dedicated to the history of coracle making, is a must.

If you enjoy walks and being in the great outdoors, there are 325 acres of fantastic woodlands a few footsteps away at Ffynone and Cilgwyn, and the lodge is well placed for accessing Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. Less than 10 miles away is the west Wales coastline and scenic Cardigan Bay, where there are many lovely sandy beaches which lead directly on to the coastal path which are dog friendly all year round and opportunities to see the bottlenose dolphins that are frequent visitors in the bay all within a short drive. The thriving market town of Cardigan is 10 minutes away on the banks of the estuary, and the ancient castle is well worth a visit. There are plenty of eateries in the town, including a restaurant on a boat and a ’tipi’ serving wood-fired pizzas and live music in the summer. Newquay, a popular tourist destination is only 25 minutes away. The family attractions of Pembrokeshire including Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo are easily accessible for a day out, as is St David’s, the smallest city in Britain. Shop, pub and restaurant 1 mile.

The detacthed lodge has three bedrooms, 1 double & 2 twin bedroom sleeping up to 6 people, a family bathroom with shower over bath, toilet and heated towel rail, a fully equipped kitchen and a 25m2 living area with electric wood burner, Widescreen Freeview TV and DVD player, leading out onto a enclosed decked terrace and has its own private allocated parking right outside the lodge.
