Caravan holidays in Barmouth

Barmouth

A caravan holiday to Barmouth promises visitors the best of both worlds – beautiful beaches and magnificent mountains, all right on the doorstep.

Why Book A Caravan Holiday In Barmouth?

So, where to begin? Barmouth boasts some of the best facilities for outdoor activities, no matter what age you are or who you’ve come on holiday with. Whether with family, friends or loved ones, there is an activity to suit. Try messing about on the water and have a go at surfing, paddle boarding, kayaking, boating and fishing, or for something equally active but on dry land, why not go for walking, cycling, mountain climbing, horse riding, trail running, golf, abseiling and archery, to name just a few?

It’s all about the beaches in and around Barmouth, and while you’re on a caravan holiday in the area, make sure you plan a day at the beach. As well as Barmouth itself, beaches on your bucket list should include Fairbourne, Llwyngwril, Tal-y-Bont and Harlech, which all offer fantastic opportunities for sandcastle building, paddling, rock pooling, picnics, dog walks and romantic strolls. So, whether you’re after an all-action day at the beach or a chilled-out, relaxing time, you’ve come to the right place. Boasting sublime views out towards Cardigan Bay, Barmouth enjoys a superb setting and offers holidaymakers everything they could possibly want from bustling streets, amazing activities both on and off the water, glorious beaches, family-friendly farms, rolling hills and lots of fascinating heritage trails and historic buildings. It is all topped off by some of the best cuisine you’ll find anywhere, showcasing the excellent local produce Barmouth and the surrounding region have to offer.

Places To Visit During Barmouth Caravan Holidays

A short but scenic drive from Barmouth is the ever-popular Children’s Farm Park, the ideal place for a fun-filled family day out. You can cuddle rabbits, feed lambs and meet Shetland ponies, but watch out for the goat stampede! Along with all the fun of the farm, there is a fantastic indoor play area, a massive outdoor play park, crazy golf, a zip line, go-karts, and play tractors, all guaranteed to keep even the most active children entertained. They’ll sleep well after a visit to the Children’s Farm Park!

For all those lovers of the great outdoors, a must-visit when on a Barmouth caravan holiday is Coed-y-Brenin Visitor Centre and Forest Park, which boasts 9,000 acres of stunning woodland and forest. The UK’s first purpose-built mountain bike centre, dog-friendly Coed-y-Brenin has eight dedicated bike trails varying from a few kilometres in length to more than 30 kilometres and a skills area where you can work on honing those techniques, as well as five running trails and tracks for orienteering and geocaching.

There are so many walking trails varying from an accessible riverside route, a leisurely walk through the forest gardens, a heritage trail through an unused copper mine and a more challenging circular walk taking you to the highest point of the park with some of the most stunning views you’ll see anywhere. With children’s adventure play areas, picnic benches, a café and a gift shop, this is the perfect spot to get some fresh air and soak up the spectacular surroundings.

For something a bit different, take a trip to the dog-friendly Llanfair Slate Caverns, where you will find tunnels and caverns that are over 100 years old. Slate found here is amongst the oldest you’ll find anywhere in the world and as you descend the Jacob’s ladder into the caverns, you can wander around the tunnels and chambers looking out for the original drilling holes. You can even buy Dragon Cavern-Aged Cheddar cheese with a unique flavour, thanks to being aged deep underground. It is an excellent memento of your trip!

Barmouth truly has it all, and any caravan holiday here promises happy holiday memories to treasure forever.
