Dubbed the Gateway to Galloway, nearby Stranraer is well worth a visit with a fascinating museum and a wealth of shops, bars, cafes, pubs and restaurants. If you want to venture further afield, then jump in the car and head out to Castle Kennedy Gardens, Agnew Park, Dunskey Castle and Monreith Animal Park.
