Caravan holidays in Weston-Super-Mare

Weston-Super-Mare

Just two hours from London and yet a world away is the charming seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, a family holiday favourite for hundreds of years, and after one visit, it’s not hard to see why people come back time and time again.

Why Book A Caravan Holiday In Weston-super-Mare?

Booking a caravan holiday to Weston-super-Mare is a safe bet. Whether you’re on holiday with the children and the family dog or just having a romantic break for two, this idyllic north Somerset coastal town has plenty to offer. But if you think all you’re getting is an old-fashioned holiday by the sea, think again…

Weston-super-Mare is home to one of the most extensive outdoor galleries of street art in the southwest, and it even has the famous Banksy pinwheel housed in its local museum. Don’t be surprised to turn a street corner and immerse yourself in a fantastical landscape as the town’s street art transports visitors to another world. Once a year, the town plays host to the infamous Weston Wallz Festival, where buildings and walls throughout the town are transformed with all kinds of unique murals.

Of course, the town still offers all the fun of a beach holiday with fantastic golden sands at Uphill Slipway, Sand Bay, Brean and Weston-super-Mare itself, complete with its iconic Grand Pier - all well worth packing a picnic and a bucket and spade for and heading out for the day. Imagine a romantic stroll along miles of sandy beach with your furry friend in tow or a day spent building sandcastles and exploring rock pools with the kids - holidays don’t get much better than this.

Places To Visit During A Weston-super-Mare Caravan Holiday

If you want a day off from the beach, then for something a bit different, head to the world’s largest Helicopter Museum, where more than 80 helicopters and gyrocopters are on display in an all-weather hangar, making it ideal for a rainy day activity. Check out the Queen’s Royal Flight aircraft, the world speed record holder G-Lynx and veteran helicopters from Vietnam.

Children can play in the cockpit of a real helicopter on open cockpit days, and there are events throughout the year, including flight simulations and living history days. On-site, there is a café, a gift shop and a picnic area, making it the ideal destination for a fun-filled family day out.

For an attraction that promises its guests the opportunity to get up close and personal with more than 100 species of animals set in 100 acres of idyllic north Somerset countryside, a visit to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is a must while you are on a Weston-super-Mare caravan holiday. Forming part of a fully working farm, the award-winning attraction welcomes more than 200,000 visitors a year.

There is also a fantastic selection of animals, including elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos, and bears, to name just a few. There is an indoor play area to keep children of all ages busy. Outside is a fabulous maze for grown-ups and kids to get lost in, adventure play areas, trampolines, sand pits, climbs, slides, a welly splash pool and tractor diggers, making it the perfect place to tire everyone out!

If you want more animal action, then take a trip to Puxton Park near Weston-super-Mare, a delightful farm park where children can have cuddles with rabbits and guinea pigs, watch live milking demonstrations, have an encounter with an owl and enjoy flying displays at the falconry centre. There is also an aerial climbing area, an indoor play zone, mini-golf, a maze, a giant fort, play diggers and a boating lake to ensure there is something for everyone to do, young or old.

After a caravan holiday to Weston-super-Mare, you will be guaranteed to take home unforgettable holiday memories to treasure forever.
